Membership

Why become a member of Audubon? To do your part to help save our bird populations and the habitat that is so necessary to the survival of each species. Lahontan Audubon Society (LAS) works in many diverse areas to assist in preserving and restoring the needed habitats:

  • LAS monitors bird populations by means of Christmas Bird Counts in Western Nevada and the Sierra Nevada, as well as other specialized studies such as the Nevada Breeding Bird Atlas;
  • We work on land use issues to help obtain the best compromise of needed habitat and an exploding population; and
  • We strive to stimulate a greater local appreciation, awareness, and understanding of birds, wildlife, and their habitats through education of the public and school children (e.g., Audubon Adventures).

Join the Lahontan Audubon Society (a chapter of The National Audubon Society) and become part of a large group of people who are interested in preserving birds and their habitat. See Membership Form.

LAS E-Mail List: If you are a current member and would like to receive e-mail announcements about the chapter please send an e-mail to oakesy@sbcglobal.net .

Has Your Membership Expired?

Please take a look at your latest mailing label. In the upper right hand corner is a date...your expiration date. Chances are, if you have passed this date, you will soon be off our membership list, or your national Audubon membership has expired. As a courtesy, we leave you on our distribution for a couple of months while the paper work catches up. If your date has passed, please consider renewing! If you have any questions, please contact oakesy@sbcglobal.net.
