Welcome to our quarterly newsletter's art section: the spring 2025 edition! We hope you enjoy all the beautiful artwork we've received this time around. Beautiful paintings done by Jennifer McIntosh. Bird Poems by Jaida Marinas: “As Birds Do” It’s true to one’s nature to seek warmth in the cold, even if the source is from another’s embrace. Against a winter’s breeze, the only reasonable call to action is abiding to one’s innate survival instincts. It makes complete sense that when you’re standing barely a few inches away from me in this cold wind that all the neurons in my body are begging for me to move closer to you- just like how birds do! Such as tree swallows, sparrows, or pigeons, when the temperature drops they will flock together, huddling for warmth. Would it be so embarrassing to entertain the idea of yourself and I as two lone doves without a flock searching for the nearest heat source? I’d be happy to provide you that comfort if you’re willing to have it. Anyway, at the end of the day, that was just a long and unnecessarily fluffed up string of words and excuses for me to try to convey how I wanted to keep holding your hand just a bit longer tonight but I was too embarrassed to try. “Bird Haiku” When i look at birds, I am incredibly sad. Where was my invite? “My Spark Bird” My ruddy ducky, with your beautiful blue bill, you are so lovely |
