short-eared owl surveys
In previous years, the state of Nevada has partnered with the Intermountain Bird Observatory, Klamath Bird Observatory, and many other western states and partners for continued Short-eared Owl surveys (a.k.a Project WAfLS) in Nevada. Project WAfLS has now expanded to an eight-state program designed to assess the population status, trends, and threats against this enigmatic, open-country species. If you would like to participate in this study and "adopt" a survey route, please visit http://www.avianknowledgenorthwest.net/cit…/short-eared-owls for all the details.
