BIRDS IN NORTHERN NEVADA TOWNS

Birds in Town is a bimonthly summary of bird sightings in northern Nevada towns.

"Town" is defined loosely, but generally sightings are included from towns and cities, nearby residential areas, and sites, such as water treatment ponds, that indicate a nearby human population. Birds reported from yards ("backyard birds") are also included, regardless of their urban or rural setting, although rural reports are uncommon.

These lists provide a subjective snapshot of birds that have been seen by numerous birders in northern Nevada towns. We hope that the lists can provide both local and visiting birders with an idea of what birds can be seen in the region at various times of the year. Most of the birds in each bimonthly list show up each year, but some are one-time-only sightings.
