Field Trip capacity is limited to 10 participants and pre-registration is required.
Leader: Parker Flickinger
Date: Saturday, June 26th
Time: 8:30-10:30 AM
Location: Veteran's Parkway Lake & Wetlands
Description: Have you ever wanted to learn how to birdwatch, but don't have the equipment? Do you want to see impressive bird species just in your backyard? If you answered "yes" to either of these questions then this is the birding trip for you. Bird enthusiast and VISTA member Parker Flickinger is back to teach you birding at the local hotspot: Veteran's Parkway. This trip is designed with the beginner birdwatcher in mind. Well-behaved children are welcome. Binoculars and field guides will be available for your use during the trip. We will be out in an area with limited shade, so bringing your own hats, sunglasses and sunscreen are encouraged.

At Veteran's Lake, we can expect to see a variety of species including many species of ducks, blackbirds, sparrows, shorebirds, hawks, herons and the impressive American Avocet. The trip is an easy walk on the flat pavement, about half-a-mile total. Parking and supplies are limited, so this trip has a 10 participant limit.
