Date: Saturday Oct. 21, 2023 Time: 1:00 – 5:00 PM Place: River School Farm, 7777 White Fir St, Reno Click for Map Link Organic gardening is a great way to keep your garden healthy. Healthy gardens are good for us, the birds, and wildlife too! In this event, we will make juice and learn about composting for our gardens. This is an event for the whole family! Bring the kids and let them help. Do you have a tree filled with apples and don’t know what to do with them all? Let’s make some juice! Tom Stille is inviting us to bring our apples, even if they have a worm hole – that gets filtered out – to make some juice or apple cider vinegar. Bring your apples and a container to take some juice home. Learn hands-on how apple juice is made, how to measure sugar or alcohol content, and how to use the leftover pulp for composting in your yard. Tom rents the equipment to crush the apples but is generously inviting us all to join in the fun at the farm! Donations are welcome to help pay for the rental. Enjoy a day by the river while you are there! |
