We are pleased to announce the upcoming Nevada Bird-a-thon from May 7th to 16th, hosted by our friends at Great Basin Bird Observatory. What is Bird-a-thon you ask? Bird-a-thon is an bird watching competition with our great State of Nevada aimed at raising money for bird conservation and science. You can either participate by sponsoring a bird team of your choice or setting up your own team. We at Lahontan Audubon Society will be participating by hosting a solo team this year, led by our VISTA member, Parker Flickinger (in the photo above). Bird-a-thon can help support Lahotan Audubon Society through your donations. When giving a donating to Bird-a-thon, you have the option to request 25% of your to donation be sent to support Lahontan Audubon Society. You and can also sponsor our team directly, and as we have already requested the 25% proceeds to our chapter. In addition to supporting our Chapter, several public bird field trips will be offered as part of the Bird-a-thon festivites. These are hosted by volunteers and even our Lahontan Audubon Chapter at Oxbow Nature Center during the Global Big Day Birding Celebration on May 8th.
