Leader: Parker Flickinger
Date: Saturday, May 8th Time: 9:00 AM Hidden in the western side of Reno, Oxbow Nature Study Area offers a peaceful, forested, natural escape along the Truckee River. Plenty of waterfowl can be seen migrating through the river and its associated wetlands. American Robins, Steller's Jays, and other migrating songbirds are found foraging in the scrub and occasionally raptors are seen flying overhead. This trip will be part of both the Nevada Bird-a-thon and the Global Big Day birdwatching challenge events. Join us as we participate with the greater global bird watching community! The trip will be on a flat trail following the Truckee River. It will be roughly a 1-mile round-trip. The trail surface is dirt with roots and sand; which may present an obstacle for wheelchair users, but otherwise, the trail is easy terrain. |
